Jobs Change Lives
Paid employment is often considered the cornerstone of the recovery process. Our Recovery though Work Partnership provides the preparation and training needed to be successful in the workplace. Once trained, Vincent House members have the opportunity to participate in a highly supportive employment experience called “Transitional Employment.”
Into the Workforce
A willingness to work is the key factor for Vincent House members who wish to reenter the workforce through our Transitional Employment program. In partnership with area businesses, Vincent House offers part-time jobs, typically lasting six to nine months. Vincent House members work at the employer’s place of business; are held to all workplace requirements; and are paid directly by the employer.
Vincent House members receive individualized training while working with job coaches in Transitional Employment. Our job coaches monitor employment progress and provide ongoing supports needed for successful completion of the job placement. Job coaches also provide coverage in case of member emergencies or absences.
Precursor to Career Success
Successful participation in Transitional Employment provides members with valuable work experience, employment references and a recent work history for resume purposes. Members frequently have the opportunity to work consecutive Transitional Employment positions over a 1-2 year span in order to better prepare themselves for permanent employment in a career field of their choice.
